A short-tail mud motor ie. pro-drive, gator-tail, go-devil, or mud buddy will do just as well as an outboard up to 35-40hp in clean water & better in shallow water, mud or veggies. I thought I'd keep my 30hp yammy but after running the pd I sold the yam & haven't looked back.
