Looking into this topic today I found a great thread on IH8MUD in which a guy went to some lengths to investigate the hows and the whys behind the MT "No Flat Tow" statement in the owner's manual, and why flat towing an MT FJ can be done safely. The last step is to tow with the brake set up, which will be in the next couple of days. The DS disconnect mechanism is not very well designed.…
